city notes

slow living in the city

I’ve called many cities and towns home. And each one has it’s own special vibe and energy. There’s the funky mountain city in the Unites States, the middle-sized industrial city in Sweden, the cabin on the side of the mountain, the mid-sized American suburban city, the small town in the middle of rural North Carolina, the univeristy city, the tiny town down east near the beach, and the old, nordic capital of Scandinavia made up of 14 archipelago islands Just to name a few. Each city and neighborhood I have called home also has a few special places that have become my second living rooms. Places I have spent countless hours, met amazing people, and have made tons of memories. When I have moved away from a city, these are the places (and people) I must visit upon my return.

Stockholm, specifically the bohemian, artsy neighborhood island of Södermalm, is the city I call home these days. But, I’ve only lived here since 2025, so there is much to explore and tons of new second living rooms to discover. Follow along here and join me as I walk the streets, settle into the vibe, and meet new people. There will be tons of culture, art, music, food, and drink - because it’s all right outside my door. Welcome to my neighborhood.
